Area of Study :
As a specialist in community medicine, you will be required to study the health systems and infrastructure at different levels - state, local and national and will have to suggest ways to improve them. You may also conduct research on the health management systems in the community to evaluate the overall health status of the community and suggest ways on how to improve them. Community medicine also deals with prevention of epidemics and other outbreaks and also monitors the various health related criteria to keep a watch on certain life threatening diseases and conditions.

- In order to specialize in community medicine, you will have to cross the following stages:

Complete your +2 level with physics, chemistry and biology.

Sit for the medical entrance tests held by different institutions. Then complete a four year undergraduate degree course in medicine.

After getting your MBBS degree, appear for the post graduate entrance examinations. Then complete a two year post graduate degree course in community medicine.
